Former Home Depot SVP-General Counsel Larry Smith Joins Triton Value Partners

ATLANTA – October 27, 2010 – Triton Value Partners is pleased to announce that former Home Depot Senior Vice President and General Counsel Larry Smith has joined Triton Value Partners as an Executive in Residence.

The Executive in Residence program was created to give Triton clients access to senior executives who understand how to apply world-class management practices to enhance the profitability and growth of mid-sized companies.

For the first 17 years at Home Depot, Smith led the company’s legal department as counsel, senior counsel and Senior Vice-President-General Counsel. He was also Secretary of the Company. From 2000-2002, Mr. Smith served as Senior Vice President-Executive Services.

Smith is seasoned and experienced in all aspects of the wholesale financing business including the credit card industry, asset-based lending, and banking. In 2004 he became the chairman and co-founder of GreenSky Financial which partners with financial institutions, wholesalers and retailers to provide credit products to their customers.

Mr. Smith is a 1969 graduate of the University of Bridgeport, Bridgeport, CT and received his law degree from Brooklyn Law School, Brooklyn, NY in 1975.
